The Entebbe Raid - Forgotten History

On July 4th, 1976, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched one of the most daring counter-terrorism missions in military history. This clip from FORGOTTEN HISTORY breaks down the high-stakes logistics of the flight to Entebbe, Uganda. To save over 100 hostages held by hijackers at Entebbe Airport, Israeli C-130 Hercules transport planes had to fly more than 2,500 miles from Israel—entirely below the radar and across hostile territory. From the "impossible" refueling plan in Kenya to the tactical genius of the mission’s setup, discover how 100 commandos prepared for a mission that many believed was a impossible. On July 4, 1976 Israel launched the most daring, complicated, long range, logistically challenging and political volatile hostage rescue in history. The raid made history in more ways than one, and proved to the world the lengths that Israel would go to rescue its citizens. Hosted by Colin D. Heaton.
