  Our dedicated Queen Lara. In fact, she started her career at the age of 12, when she first won a singing contest in Brussels, Belgium. She was still attending classes at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels when that happened. Then, two years later, in 1984, she won another singing contest on a radio station in Brussels. The prize was the opportunity to record an LP with six songs, which she did in 1985, at the age of 15, and on of the songs she recorded at age of 15 was New York New York, which is available here on YouTube. <br>So, basically, she has been winning contests and singing professionally since 1982, when she was 12. If we count her career from then, she has been in the business for 44 years. If we count only from her Eurovision participation in 1988, then she has had a 38-year career.
