Thanks for watching our Mrs. Doubtfire first-time reaction!

Did this movie feel more like a comedy, a family drama, or both? And what Robin Williams movie should we watch next?

This is an edited commentary and review using selected movie clips to support discussion, criticism, humor, and reflection from a Former Amish perspective.

Independence Day Reaction:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3n0LVuRGAU

Jumanji Reaction:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svBjduWEkh4

Dante's Peak Reaction:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMQE4O_g9f8

Not here to comment on this reaction (didn't care for this movie) but something else. Recently bought another horse, when our farrier came to remove his shoes (no need here) he exclaimed "this was an Amish horse!". Asked how he knew that, he said the shoes were custom made by a master blacksmith, with an extra nail only the Amish used, and had boron nuggets melted onto the front and side edges to make pulling large carts on pavement easier in his feet. He swore ONLY Amish horses EVER had THOSE specific shoes, unique in whole world, was 100% certain. He's a very sweet patient guy, nothing startles him. No more carts to pull, just little kids to ride. ❤❤❤

Porky Pig was a cartoon character who was notable for speaking with a bit of a stutter. He was one of the Looney Tunes, which was a series of animated shorts. A lot of those are classics.

7:33 The man who sees Miranda in this scene, Stuart, is played by Pierce Brosnan. He would later be known for appearing in a few films as James Bond, a super spy for the British secret service. The whole James Bond series is excellent. There have been a few different actors to play Bond over the years. The first few films were based off a series of books, but later films were mainly original stories.

Another good movie I would recommend with Sally Field (the mother) is "Forrest Gump", which stars Tom Hanks as the title character. Sally Field plays Forrest's mother.
