Bonnie had surgery to remove nodule from her throat and was told not to speak. Shortly after she screamed which permanently damaged her vocal cords which lead to her iconic voice.

Bonnie Tyler is a Welsh singer who is known for her distinctive husky voice. "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" was her biggest hit in 1983. She had other hits such as "Lost In France", "More Than A Lover", "Holding Out For A Hero", "Bitterblue" etc.

😮Bonny Tyler was singing professionly when her voice developed a raspy sound. She was diagnosed with vocal cord condition that she was told her singing career was over. But, she just went right on and incorporated the rasp.
