  the fact that so many of these animals had a very similar yellowish orange coat and we find many mummies with hair like that too makes me think one of two things. &nbsp;either the passage of time has a bleaching effect on this type of tissue and it was a darker possibly reddish or brownish color in life, or at one point there was a fabulous amount of strawberry blonde people, mammoths, rhinos and cats running around! &nbsp;i like it either way.

  There is a tiny baby mammoth skeleton from Siberia in my local museum. The tiny little tusk nubs made me emotional for some reason.
