  We were originally going to do a short follow up on the FF7 Revelation stuff shown at State of Play, but I more or less predicted exactly what they ended up showing, so I didn't see the need, haha.

  Just to confirm something you touched upon in the video - the story routes for characters you are referring to is for side quests, not for the main story. You can choose which character does a side quest but the story of that quest will play out from that character's perspective, and delve into different things about them such as their past, motivations, future etc. And then you have essentially locked in that character for that side quest, so you will have to replay the game to experience those side quests differently with different characters. It's a really cool idea for replayability and expanding on the character development,

  On that act 3 bit. Each game each has its own internal hero’s journey/ 3 act system. The ordeal changes between the first two, but it exists. The refusal is more literal in the first, while in the second the refusal is more on strained relationships. Each game has introduced questions and answered them within the games (whispers) they are brought up in. So they can still pull surprises in the third title!

  Casen, congrats on your Japanese reading progress! I&apos;ll be looking forward to hearing your translation insight in the future. I&apos;m sure you worked very hard to get there.<br>To Mike, in case you don&apos;t hear this enough amidst the fandom, I&apos;m happy you were able to try a Persona game at all, let alone enjoy it. I stopped commenting in gaming communities/fandoms awhile ago due to the heavy drama that comes with it and Persona is no exception. If the remakes make the games that much more approachable to you, then all the better. P4 Golden is one of my top 10 JRPGs after showing me that they don&apos;t all have to have classical music and high fantasy settings. It was humbling. I perfectly understand why most people would not make it through the first 2 hours of tutorials with how long it is. Loving the games I do in while acknowledging their flaws has been one of my greatest joys. That being said, aside from the nearly 10 year gap in new mainline entries of the series, the one gripe I brought up in the last Atlus poll was the relationships. Someone online got into a heated argument about how revolutionary Persona was with it&apos;s level of player agency compared to most JRPGs. It had to be pointed out that the social links are entirely optional and don&apos;t have any choices now that would permanently end a relationship. So while on the surface it looks like choice, it&apos;s only a matter of pace of growth. I&apos;ve met people irl that have just decided &quot;we will never be friends&quot; with no hope of recovery, but you will never see that in Persona. Just once, I want to be a considerate friend that says what needs to be said and not what the other person wants to hear.

  Trails in the sky remake is the best version I’ve seen of the 3D anime, big-world game you described in the episode.<br>I knew nothing about it going in and was sold by how well it refined that art style to an rpg.
