  One of your better videos! Real motion and not sped up, for some of it, showing actual working time. What was the first gear for? Obviously turned by a screw gear for lots of torque. I would love to see the machine it runs in! Follow up video on this would be awesome! ❤

  The attempt at case hardening by surrounding the gear with burning rags is not likely to achieve anything. &nbsp;Most likely the blank was cut from a propellor shaft of a scrapped big ship and as such will be a medium carbon alloy steel not suitable for case hardening.

  The most incredible part about this company is that the owner dont give a crap about their employees. These guys must be very desperate to have a job and keep working in a place like this.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; Of the last two videos separating a shaft and gear by having to drop a heavy shaft from the roof was ridiculous enough. But after making a replacement brand new gear and shaft, they had to do the very same caveman technique to install the shaft. I have had to replace a gear and shaft veary near the exact same dementions that cost $30,000.00 to about $60,000.00 and to see my new parts being handled this way I would have to refuse to pay for it and go some other place. If i were the customer and saw these videos I would not be back. With the skills that these guys demonstrate the conditions and lack of necessary equipment like a hydraulic press to handle these gears and shafts are inexcusable.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; You have great skilled employees but you sure dont care about them.

  Отлично! Но попросите у начальника гидравлический пресс 100-200 тонн,мне кажется стоить будет не так дорого,а работа пойдет легче

  Standing the gear up in a trench dug into the floor was a great idea. Allowing the gear to flop around while using the shop&apos;s entire work force to swing a heavy hammer back and forth to drive the shaft into the gear was STUPID. All they had to do was jam some iron between the gear and the trench wall to hold the gear tight and perpendicular to the shaft. Instead a good portion of the hammer&apos;s energy was wasted on tipping the gear back on every stroke.<br><br>Another really STUPID mistake..... allowing the torch operator to cut the shaft end without dark lenses. &nbsp;Infra-red radiation from red hot steel penetrates through the eye&apos;s lens and travels all the way to the retina at the back of the eye and DESTROYS SOME OF THE NERVE ENDINGS THAT TRANSMIT THE IMAGE TO THE BRAIN. &nbsp;THAT DAMAGE DOES NOT HEAL. IT IS PERMANENT. THERE IS NO CURE. Vision loss does not happen all at once because the retina consists of millions of nerve endings and only a few hundred nerve endings are destroyed at a time. The vision loss progresses slowly and it is cumulative and NOT REVERSIBLE.
