I’m no longer Mormon but preparedness for families and helping communities is something I’m still proud of

FEMA got its list from the Mormon church and admitted it years ago.

FEMA brings the clip boards and the LDS church brings the food, water, clothes, generators and gas.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is frequently the first responder to a disaster. Not only with food and essential supplies but with volunteers ready to help.

The more important fact is that this year the LDS church set out to deliver 250, 000 pounds of food all across the country, specifically dropping it off at other food pantries and charities. Let that sink in…

FEMA is often the second group on site for a disaster. The LDS Church is usually the first.

Someone I know was the " emergency prep" leader in his Mormon church congregation. Yes, we do have someone with that assignment. He went to his county 's emergency prep meeting to see what the county's plan was for an emergency. They said their emergency plan was to wait for the Mormon church to show up.

As a teenager I often worked on a volunteer basis at the LDS Churches pasta factory in SLC, I worked bagging the pasta into bags along the side of doctors, lawyers, politicians, and people from all walks of life to make the welfare system successful. This reduced the cost making the pasta more affordable for the less fortunate.

When they had all the floods down south New Orleans area several years ago there was a story told about Mormons, where they took the police department and the fire department to their warehouse and said what do you need and those firemen and Other # Emergency workers looked inside and saw this huge huge warehouse full of things that they could use whether it was a tractor a small tractor to move things or if it was food and other storage things, I mean, they just open the doors up and looked at the Bishop of the church of that war area that stake the state center president. He looked at them and said what do you need and they looked in there and they were so stunned they couldn’t believe it and they just started passing out the stuff that they needed what they said they needed they needed hammers they needed songs. They needed all the equipment to move things out of the way and to get things cleared up and get things for people all sit and done the local fire department and the local church members all got together for barbecue and many of those rescue workers were suddenly thankful for the fact that the Mormons were prepared and then they started realizing that they can do it too true story.
