I love this movie, the atmosphere is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
It's a true sci-fi classic. Absolutely puts shame to most modern movies in the genre.

My favorite Hudson line is "Why don't you put HER in charge?!"

I remember going to the movie theater and seeing both "Aliens" and "Stand By Me" playing at the same time. I was trying to make a decision on which movie to see. I chose Aliens. The next weekend I saw Stand By Me. They both hold up to this day.

Its incredible that this film has aged so well when so few others have. You genuinely care for a lot of the marines. They have actual personalities.
That alongside tension that really feels thick really does show how part of its longevity. So few do it as well.

I remember vividly the first trailer I saw for Aliens. It was just a collection of strobing images with an escalating score. Each image was spectacular, an overwhelming crescendo of alien terror, all ending with the scene of Newt in the water as an alien rises behind her. It was probably the best trailer of its kind I had ever seen. It gave almost nothing away while making you super excited about the movie. If there are awards for trailers, it should have won everything.

40 years later, and this is still one of the best movies ever made. Sure there have been great movies before and since, but there is nothing that has the same feel. Pure genius created this all around.

I still consider the power loader scene to the the single most badass scene ever filmed.

One of my absolute favorite movies ever. It was the thrill of a lifetime to watch it in theaters last weekend with James Cameron himself in attendance.

I saw this movie in the theatre back in 86 when I was a teenager. I remember starting a timer on my fancy new digital watch when "t - minus 15 minutes" was announced. I was surprised when I stopped my watch at the point of detonation and found that it had actually been 15 minutes. So glad you pointed this out!

Aliens was so good! This was my introduction to the franchise. I was so young and it seemed like Aliens came on more than Alien, so I’ve watched it more too. Haven’t seen it in years and this makes me want to go back and watch again!
