  Zhukov is probably one of the few military leaders who truly earned every gleaming piece of metal on his ridiculously over-ornamented chest. He was a man who saw a LOT of war, from World War I, through the Russian Civil War and then commanding the Red Army during the bloodbath that was World War II on the Eastern Front.

  Zhukov got along well with Eisenhower and the other allied leader post World War 2. Eisenhower sent him some fishing tackle that he used for the rest of his life, and introduced him to Coca-Cola. Apparently he liked coke but feared it'd get him in trouble with the Soviet leadership so the company made him a special batch of "white coke" that looked like vodka.

  Stalin knew Zhukov was<br>1: Too trusted by the army to remove, and<br>2: Not inclined to depose Stalin, as long as Stalin didn&apos;t fuck with national defense.<br><br>So Stalin didn&apos;t touch him.<br>Now that&apos;s integrity from Zhukov, being so loved, yet not looking at the throne, only outward.

  Fun fact. They put less medals on the movie version of Zhukov because they thought people would think it was a gag. He did in fact wear an entire coat of medals more than what was shown in the movie.

  During the coup, when the KGB come into the boardroom (the &quot;wrong room&quot; comment). This happened in real life, the KGB guards were there at Berias&apos; instruction to arrest Khrushchev and Malenkov, putting Beria in charge.

  Zhukov served as a cavalry sergeant in the Imperial Russian Army in the First World War. He served in the Red Army during the Russian Civil War and navigated the pitfalls of serving in the Red Army during the 1930&apos;s, when hundreds of Russian officers from Marshals to lieutenants were executed or sent to the GULAG during Stalin&apos;s purges. He commanded the successful repulse of Japanese forces at Khalkin Gol in Mongolia and was fortunate to be trusted by Stalin at STAVKA[Army High Command]when WWII broke out. Zhukov was forceful and not afraid to voice his opinions, his record of command, with successes and failures that he owned up to, made him most successful of Stalin&apos;s military leaders, which did earn him the animosity of Beria and stoked Stalin&apos;s suspicions after WWII. The film, while reasonably accurate in some of it&apos;s depictions, does compress a lot of the story into a shorter span for the sake of the movie.

  Fun fact: Zhukov liked Coca-Cola. He was given a special batch that was just clear fizzy liquid so that it looks like vodka. It was called “White Coke”. They even gave the lids a red star to sell that it was a communist drink.
