A friend isn't someone who you pal around with, those are called acquaintances. Anyone you don't have any depth to the relationship is an acquaintance.

It's hard being the only one who sees the cruel narcissist for who they really are behind the mask of "nice" they wear for other people. Anyone who sides with my abuser is not a person I can trust anymore. Double grief, yes!

I’ve just left a 35 year old friendship when I started to see that the dynamic was totally stacked against me, the one sidedness and subtle mean comments. I realised I was better off without that rubbish!
