The last cat reminds me of a stray that appeared in my yard back in 2018. To my surprise, he was befriended by one of my normally very territorial cats.<br>He was in a terrible state, matted and missing fur, broken teeth. So I captured him and after treatment at the vets kept him indoors to recover.<br>At first he was very timid, hiding under the bed except when fed or he needed the litter tray. Then one day as I topped his food bowl up my hand brushed against him. Rather than flinching away like normal, he started purring.<br>The breakthrough had been made, and I'd won his trust. He lived for a further seven years until an illness he'd contracted as a stray that could only be managed rather than cured finally flared up again and took him. At least he knew comfort and security for those last seven years though.

I love all the stories but the one that made me smile the most was all the different animals that came to the backyard when word got around and the lady kept feeding all of them.
