This is a beautiful film, I hope more people in Scotland see it. Katherine's story is incredible and absolutely heartbreaking, a horrifying example of why Israel is so essential ✡

Both my parents are Scottish, we grew up with an understanding that we are a mix of Jews, Catholic and Presbyterian. My father used to say we were all free born to choose our hearts belief. I always loved this about my family.

Being jewish means so many things for so many people. I'm glad to see so many representations, and discover their culture, history, and identity alongside them.

I am not Jewish but my Aunts husband worked for the Jewish Echo circa 1930.I have been doing my Jamaican grandchildren’s family tree and 3 of them have Sephardic Portuguese ancestors who came to Jamaica via Rotterdam around 1790.He was Moses de Castro Mattos. I grew up in Glasgow near the synagogue in Langside and a school mate made her pocket money as a Shabat goy. Your video was very enjoyable., thank you

I’m a Jewish Canadian and visited Scotland in summer 2011 en route from London and Israel. My friend who is Jewish was living in Perth with her boyfriend at the time. We went to a Shabbat dinner in another town at someone’s home thru a Jewish organization. Beautiful country, great pubs, haggis, nice people, castles, cute cows, and a summer that is not hot or humid. Hope you are doing well 🤓

wonderful documentary! I have truly enjoyed it. I am Scottish, i was dragged to the USA as a child , where when i met Jews i realised that i have Jewish Heritage. I have strong non Christian and Post Christian beliefs and time has revealed these beliefs as Jewish though non-religious based on truth justice and righteousness. There is many similarities with Scots. I believed in Mitzvot before i knew the word for it. The more I search myself I come to my Jewish but non-dogmatic centre. and i find a peace. I found peace in grieving my mother with quietly doing 'my thing' i recited my own non gendered Kaddish and did mitzvot which made sense to me to reach out of myself my grief and to connect with other humans with my acts of kindness. In pain of grief we can only heal with sharing kindness. And I continue to embrace mitzvot . It makes us human.

I am a Christian Scot, living now in the USA. I recognized the Queen' Park synagogue (Niddrie Road i think). I was raised in Torrisdale St round the corner. Several neighbors were Jewish. There was another synagogue in Bellsle St. I went to school al my life with Jewish children, and also at Glasgow University. There was a Jewish bakery in Allison Street. In those days everything was closed on a Sunday.. But there was a law that Jews could open BUT if the did, they had close on Saturday. If my mother ran out of bread on Saturday, I was sent for a "Jewish egg loaf." Enjoyed video
