At 6 years old, my parents would leave me on Friday nights, to go party with their neighbours (it was the swinging sixties) and after they left, I would get out of bed and go put on the tv. The Prisoner would come on at 11pm, straight after Monty Python's Flying Circus. Both programmes helped form me into the person I became. They were both, in their own way, incredibly strange, yet deeply important to both me and the world of entertainment.

There's something so strange yet irrestriably attractive about The Prisoner. Made in the swinging 60s with high production values and a man who was a genius, The Prisoner remains a Cult TV classic.

One of the greatest and most original TV series ever produced. Absolute masterpiece.

The greatest series ever made by ITV. 100% classic. An Orwellian parable of the individual's relationship with the ever increasing power of the State.

It’s 60 years old, watched it many times, and it’s still really unsettling

I spent a couple of days at Portmeirion in the mid 90's. I told them everything I knew but they wouldn't let me stay.

No matter what production he acted in, Patrick McGoohan was a powerhouse of an actor, drawing in attention with every scene.

That opening sequence is second to none for any TV series. Still an absolute favourite of mine. Thank you

The best show ever. Way ahead of it's time and still shines bright. Be seeing you.

I resigned two years ago. I wish I could have done it like this.
