About Forestella (Updated 10 July 2025, on Ko WooRim’s 30th Birthday)

Forestella is a South Korean crossover vocal quartet formed through Phantom Singer 2, an audition-based competition show created to form a Korean version of Il Divo. But Forestella quickly proved they’re not just “the Korean Il Divo”—they’ve developed a unique style of their own and are becoming the Forestella of the world.

They’re known for powerful live vocals and genre-spanning covers—from Bohemian Rhapsody and Shape of You (in English, Spanish, and Zulu), to Legends Never Die (for League of Legends fans) and even Smooth Criminal (yes, with choreography).
On the KBS show Immortal Songs (where artists reinterpret legendary tracks), they made history by winning six consecutive “King of Kings” titles.
Please check out their iconic performances of MAMA, Bad Romance, Lazenca, Save Us, and Despacito.

The group consists of:
Ko WooRim – Classical bass with an abyss-deep low tone, categorized as basso profondo, a rare voice type found in less than 1% of male vocalists.
Kang HyungHo – Former petrochemical research engineer and lifelong rock vocalist, with a range spanning soprano head voice to gritty rock growl. Forestella’s vocal director and frontman of the rock band PITTA.
Cho MinGyu – Classical leggiero tenor with a light, boyish, crystal-clear tone. Group leader, fan liaison, and CEO of his one-person agency PARANA Entertainment. Enthusiast of languages and dancing (even if he’s not the smoothest mover).
Bae DooHoon – Musical actor with emotionally expressive vocals, especially strong in pop and R\&B. Known as the 159th King of Masked Singer and a key figure in Forestella’s stage direction and visual storytelling.

They’re known for practicing nearly every day—their work ethic is unmatched.

Their original music is just as impressive. Don’t miss Save Our Lives, where each member represents an element—Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.
UTOPIA is another standout: majestic, dramatic, and uplifting.
Save Our Lives shows what crossover is, and UTOPIA shows what Forestella does.
Other originals worth checking out include: KOOL, Chagall’s Dream, Snow Globe, White Night, and the self-produced trio track And Spring.

During Ko WooRim’s military service, the group continued as a trio—sometimes using his recorded bass voice in performances like Piano Man.
They released Apocalypse and And Spring, showcasing their unity and creativity. Their performance of The Show Must Go On felt like a heartfelt message: they would keep singing while waiting for their bass.

At their recent trio concert THE ILLUSIONIST, they performed Apocalypse, Earth Song, and Nella Fantasia in a row—perhaps a subtle nod to WooRim, who represented Earth in Save Our Lives.

As of May 19, 2025, Ko WooRim has completed his military service, and Forestella is once again performing as a full quartet.
Don’t miss their latest epic cover, “Abracadabra”, performed in collaboration with 1MILLION Dance Studio as part of a special King of Kings celebration stage on Immortal Songs.
Coming right after the fierce and dynamic performance of “Abracadabra”, Forestella released their new original single “Everything” which shows a completely different side of Forestella—their most tender and romantic. It feels like watching the long-awaited lovers from “Chagall’s Dream” finally reunite, as if the dream has truly come to life. Please visit 1theK to see their Everything live.
