i'm literally about to graduate medical laboratory science, but i'm not gonna lie, this video made me understand more than the two courses i took on hematology....

Great,, I wanna add that ..HFE gene protein product facilitates the binding of transferrin to its receptors ,,leading to increased storage ..meaning that the body senses that there's enough iron , so the liver starts to make hepcidin to inhibit the absorption of more iron...<br>When HFE is mutated ,,,stores aren't filled properly , hepcidin isn't synthesized , reabsorption goes unrestricted and unregulated >>iron accumulates in blood>> then it deposits in tissues
