Inside Manila’s Girl Skate Scene

Cyra has recently started getting interested in skateboarding, but she had never actually met another girl skateboarder before. I was already planning to meet up with Yumi and Bella, so I brought Cyra along to Paraiso to hang out, skate and see what a real session with the girls looked like. She was pretty shy once we got there and honestly seemed more interested in the playground at first 😂 But little by little she started getting comfortable, watching the girls skate and eventually trying some things herself. The session ended up getting pretty heavy too. Yumi and Bella were ripping, Kevin showed up and started destroying the place, and I finally got a little time to skate while I’m still getting my leg back. Mostly just a really good day with the skate community here in the Philippines.
