What a modern review can’t capture about these games is the fact that they were released during a time where there was not much Star Wars content coming out. We took what we could get, and that’s why these games have great memories for so many people, myself included.

I had all three of those growing up. I beat Super Star Wars and Return of the Jedi, but I am convinced no mortal has ever beat Empire Strikes Back without using save states. It is absolutely impossible. It is the kind of game that Satan has on at dinner parties. And that's if you play on easy.

My uncle, a huge Star Wars lover since the late 80's and an avid gamer told me: "Before Dark Souls, we had this".

In Return of the Jedi's final level, you need to use the boost button that the game doesn't tell you about in order to outrun the explosion.

Tip: in ROTJ, Leia in the bounty hunter and slave getup has a charged attack that is immensely powerful and curbs the difficulty a bit.

The Falcon in the Death Star reactor room in Return of the Jedi reminds me of unpleasant memories of trying to fall asleep after one too many beers in college.

Back in ‘95, my buddy and I rented all 3 from Blockbuster and spent a whole weekend beating each game. I am proud, but never again……

The lightsaber spinning jump is one of the coolest moves in gaming

I had all three of these growing up. All tough but Empire Strikes Back was just downright unreasonable. <br>I still play the first one on occasion. It sort of puts me in a zen state because I played it so much back when.
