I love it when people I love to follow and really respect, collaborate together. It’s like the ultimate Marvel vs DC comic storyline!

I've had a gym membership for the better part of the last 30 years. I would occasionally go to the gym to work out. Mostly cardio. I think that's pretty typical of most gym goers. It wasn't until just prior to covid that I decided to get my health back. I was 214lbs and about 35% body fat, my BP was on the verge of needing medication, my cholesterol was high.
I had a gym membership already so I decided to take advantage of it. Things were going well. I was losing weight, building strength etc, then Covid hit and all my gains went down the tubes. Last year I said enough's enough and decided that there was nothing more important than my health. I'm retired so this became my job. I researched nutrition, I watched exercise videos, I started going to the gym 5 days per week, I learned about weight training and protein.
I'm 58 years old. I'm now 158lbs, 13% body fat. My blood pressure is low, my cholesterol is low and I'm stronger than I've ever been in my entire life. I've never been able to do a single pull-up and now I can do a full set of 10. Putting on muscle at my age is very difficult. Much harder than losing weight.
Now I'm kind of addicted to the way I feel and look.

Mike shined in this roundtable. He's definitely not the most famous guest but he has years of experience and wisdom and explains things in such a way that makes it easy to understand.

I’ve been fit all my life and at 50 I let ‘er go. At 61 (inspired by Danielle Lyon) I forced myself to walk into the heavy weights gym, walk straight up to a trainer and admit “Here I am. I’m 61, I think I’m a mess. I need to get strong.” I’ve been there now for 6 months 💪. On month 4 I did my first Tire Flip; High 5’s all around! I attend 3 days a week, 6:30 am. One hour and then a long walk by the river for 5 kilometres. Get after it!! My inspiration is that I want to dance at my grandson’s wedding——he’s only 2. Who gives a fuck if someone’s watching. If you don’t look great. Don’t be vain. This is your life. Yours!! Get strong! 💪 ♥️

Dr. Attia - my husband and I have followed you for as long as you’ve been online. We subscribe to your paid service, and consume every episode you release, and your book etc. All of this I am incredibly grateful for - I know it takes time to put out useful information that you can stand integrally behind.

AND - with all that said - this episode has been the best gift I could have gotten for my 50th birthday!! I’m currently working on recovering from a meniscus tear, and being active all my life (intensely) this particular setback has knocked me through my personal version of the 9 levels of hell. Hearing all of you talk through the realities of getting older-ish has been exactly the reframe I’ve forced myself to think of intellectually, but now I’ve finally made the emotional shift.

A massively longwinded way to say THANK YOU for thinking of and making this panel a reality!!!🤩
