  I went into sudden final stage heart failure in jan 2021. I went to ER feeling like I was drowning. They said I was in Afib and my EF of between 7 and 10. I coded twice during my 3 weeks in the ICU. I now have a pacemaker and an amazing cardiologist.  I went back to work waiting tables 6 weeks later. Walked 10 miles a shift on average. My EF is now at 55%.

  My father was diagnosed with heart failure at 70. He had a pacemaker implanted at 79. He lived to 92. He did take some meds. I'm not saying everyone would have this good of an outcome, but be sure to explore all of your options with your doctor.

  Been living with heart failure preserved ejection fraction and pulmonary hypertension for 17 years now. It was starting to look dicey but the SGL2 inhibitor and Wegovy were huge game changers! My quality of life is so much better! I'm 82 now and really do feel pretty darned good.

  Congrats on another video that takes a medical diagnosis and explains it in a calm manner that a patient can understand.  Here in the U.S., our docs are so overworked that we feel like we have to do our research and come in ready to interview with our phone recorder on. No wonder your subscribers are increasing!

  I had a major heart attack seven years ago at 57. I actually coded on the table. Initially I was left with around 25-30 percent ef. It slowly improved to depending on the echo and who reads it anywhere from 35-50 percent. I have never had shortness of breath. I have never had edema. I am completely tolerant of exercise. I sleep on my back flat. I have had no problems losing weight. I have actually lost around seventy pounds in the last few years. On purpose. I have more endurance than practically everyone I know my age. I weight train, walk and ride a schwinn air dyne bike 20-30 minutes on a fairly consistent basis. I have no problem getting my heart rate up to the 130’s fairly easily and within a couple minutes of stopping it’s down in the 60’s or 70’s again.  My blood pressure is usually 105-115ish over 60-75ish. I take carvedilol 6.25 twice a day. And entresto twice a day. I’m either a unicorn or the mind plays an enormous role in progression of the disease.

  Directly on point.  Hearing going to have the "heart failure docs examine" my wife after being admitted on an emergency basis to cardiac intensive care with only 10% heart function due to viral myocardia during the 2022 covid crisis and only knowing she had covid.  The term "heart failure" is jarring.    With the grace of God we obtained an externally driven impeller pump to provide time awaiting a Gift of Life and we now are going strong 3 years later.  But the language is jarring and so glad you opened with that.  It took us 4 months to leave intensive care after organ failures on all fronts (the hepatitis c heart was cured and never had any issues) and a couple of months on a ventilator but all professionals kept the faith and we praise God for our  "heart failure" professionals.  They kept faith in us.....Our immunosuppressants have been reduced and hemoglobin levels have returned energy ability to a miracle level.  The professionals in this field are miracle workers.......We love your videos and your humor.  THANK YOU.  Nashville, TN

  Thanks guys I have been living with H F for the last 5 years,  and found this very informative, I live in New Zealand with a changed life style I feel great, I have to sometimes stop what I’m doing and rest, or just say that’s enough and go and read a book. When I was told I had heart failure I thought that was it, but with a few changes in your life, you can carry on with little or no problem.

  Very informative and entertaining video. I am a 73 years old Australian. I recently had surgery to replace my aortic valve and I was amazed at how well it all went.

  I was diagnosed with heart failure last year and also cardiomyopathy and I’ve been taking care of myself now, but I get rarely winded on walking long distances so I just take time going everywhere
