  After witnessing two and a half years of the nightmare in Gaza, a grim realization has begun to set in that we in America are looking at ourselves in a mirror. We are seeing the same thieving and murderous foundation that our own &quot;country&quot; was built upon. This recognition doesn&apos;t come easily. We have been formed and conditioned by a Christianity which normalized genocide and ethnic cleansing, primarily by looking the other way and refusing to even acknowledge it.<br><br>For those of us born and raised in the heart of the Empire, and who are only just beginning to reckon with the reality that we are integral, organic parts of a settler colonial entity (facts on the ground), where do we begin? Where do we begin to practice the works of sincere repentance and meaningful reparation? A hunger and thirsting for justice has awakened within many. But with centuries of so much irreparable harm, what does true justice - the right ordering of human society - look like? And how do we get there?

  An excellent, important discussion. ❤️ &nbsp;Many are discovering our self colonizing root causes. and many of those causes are the misconception that Christianity is an empire.

  &quot;Evangelicals are not going to change until society changes them.&quot; Wow! That&apos;s interesting - and depressing. So who changes society? It would be nice to think that evangelicals would change because of Jesus and Scripture. Maybe that&apos;s the problem with trying to give allegiance to both the Kingdom and empire. It can&apos;t be done.
