  On embarkation day many cruise ships open one of the Main Dining Rooms for lunch. Be seated and order from a menu. No fighting the crowds, hunting for a free table, and no juggling food and luggage. &nbsp;Just a calm oasis and a leisurely meal.

  My father worked in a LV casino. &nbsp;He said to determine how much I wanted to spend and put it in my right pocket. If I won, cash out and put the ticket in my left pocket. &nbsp;When my right pocket was empty,, check the left. &nbsp;If I had less than the orignal amount, leave. &nbsp;If there was extra, leave the orignal and play, the extra. &nbsp;I visited him for 2-4 weeks every year. &nbsp;I never left a loser. &nbsp;Not often a winner, but I never lost more than my usual entertainment stake,. which I counted as entertainment cost for the eveninig. &nbsp;I never put more than $50 in the right pocket; usually twenty since I was on a tight budget. &nbsp;Some nights I played for 20 minutes, usually for a least an hour.

  I wish I had been able to have watched this video before my first cruise 7 years ago everything was such a shock and such a surprise and I didn&apos;t know where I was going or what I was doing so I&apos;m glad to see these informative videos now because I am booking an Alaskan inside passage for the fall or late summer

  Luggage - checked vs carryon. What goes where? You need 2 lists when packing and the worry that you put the wrong item in the wrong case. Easy peasy - buy a Luhxe bag. I’ve bought one and I am not even sure I’ll be going on a vacation. 2-3 weeks worth of clothes, shoes, toiletries, makeup and just about anything else you can imagine. I had to pre-order almost 2 months ahead so I’d check them out. And Luhxe is guaranteed by 150 national and international airlines to fit for carryon status. A hand carried (also has wheels for rolling) duffle sized bag along with a moderate purse and I’m set to go. For a senior couple, two of these bags could easily handle a 2-3 week cruise and even an older person can pull one without trouble. Best of all your luggage can never be lost!

  we have been o many cruises. None of these issues ever came up. Bur then again we cruise with Regent 7 Seas, a luxury line with 500--750 passenger ships. Boarded quickly, bags in our room waiting for us, went about our day with issues.

  Want to avoid nearly ALL that was warned about here? Use Viking ocean cruises! There are literally NO surprises. They don’t nickel and dime you. You get an included excursion at every port, along with ones that will cost you extra. The tipping per day is about the same as described here, but (on river cruises for sure) you are allowed to adjust the amount you actually pay! It’s not as wild and crazy as some cruise lines but for us, not allowing children is well worth it! And having no casinos is a plus that we really appreciate. It’s not for everyone but you should try it if the crowds on the other cruise lines bother you!
