  New Bern kind of reminds me of a mini Savannah or Charleston SC.

City hall is on the corner of craven and Pollock st. JCPENNEY used to sit where the &apos;art&apos; lot is till they moved to the mall. But its gone now. Sorry I started commenting before I watched the whole video lol. You found city hall . Also across from Mitchell&apos;s hardware there&apos;s a bldg with a city hall sign. Not sure how old that bldg is and when it was used as city h &nbsp; all. Really enjoyed your video. Live and worked in New Bern all my life don&apos;t get downtown much anymore so I watch videos like yours to see whats going on thanks

  Totally useless &quot;art park&quot; in New Bern. And they want to make another &quot;artsy fartsy&quot; park in downtown. Better turn this parcel into a parking lot.

  It is so refreshing to see a video of a real town again after the last few episodes of places without so much as a sidewalk calling itself a town. &nbsp;New Bern is a lovely historic town where one can leisurely stroll the streets and browse the numerous shops. &nbsp;Had you turned right instead of left at City Hall, you would have walked along Craven Street with ample retail and restaurant activity. &nbsp;In this area is Mitchell’s Hardware, a wonderful local hardware store with creaky wood floors and personal service. &nbsp;I consider New Bern the centerpiece of eastern North Carolina flanked by Washington and Edenton. &nbsp;For the most part these are thriving communities in an otherwise economically struggling part of the state.<br>The beautiful music of the cicadas was the frosting on this cake.

  The Train runs twice a day each way to an from Morehead City Port. It is impressive to see it street run. BTW on the street is a no horn zone so all they do is ring the bell through to the yard.

Your channel showed up randomly on my side bar and I decided to watch.<br>I&apos;m glad I did, I enjoyed watching you and you have a nice accent and the tour is great, I especially found the<br>Original tile on the ground at the store entrance&apos;s very cool. You can gage the age of the store building by that entrance <br>Too. Great video. Thanks and safe travels 😊👍🏻

  I visited New Bern for the first time back in 2020 and it was around the time the town was having their mum festival around in October. I really would love to come back and visit, the Union Point park was so nice! Lots of history and shops to explore.
