This is the best video on "official source of weather" I have come across so far for those of us who are preparing for the Checkride and rely mostly on Foreflight weather reports.

For those watching in late 2026, the NOAA has switched up how the website looks. The information is all still in there, so don't turn the video off just because the website looks different now! The interface is much different, but it's more intuitive once you get the hang of it. Playing around with the site to find the right screens/views that match the video is well worth it for the understanding Josh is giving!

For the winds aloft chart, no winds are forecasted within 1,500' of station elevation, and no temperatures are forecasted within 2,500' AGL of station elevation.

Thank you for this video. I asked my CFI to go over these weather products and she glossed right over them in just a couple of minutes. By time I got home I’d forgotten most of what I was taught.

The playlist is awesome. Thank you so much for posting. Everything is a refresher course for me to get ready for my Sport and private test in the next two months. Greatly appreciated. Huge help.

Sir, I cant thank you enough. You've been immensely helpful to my training with all your videos. I just solo'd on Thursday (what a day... I still cant believe it. haha.), and I ran the pattern today at the local airport by myself today so the next step is xc planning and flight. Again, thank you for all the content and knowledge. SEEYA!

Cirrus clouds may (probably) indicate an impending change in weather (often to more stormy than current). Thank you for these videos, very helpful.
