I cannot express how thankful I am that booting straight from a USB drive is a widespread thing nowadays.

1:51:18 Corporate wants you to install BGInfo, that way it makes it easier for Khloe to find her computer name when she calls the help desk.

This made me realize that whatever's left of HPs hardware division is basically everything what they bought off Compaq

You just opened can of worms with a full blown Windows domain. So much content to cover now. A lot of it is still relevant which is crazy.

I like the much longer format. Worked pretty great honestly.

It's absolutely the KVM that's causing most of your display problems. There just isn't enough bandwidth in a cat6 cable to transmit the VGA signal without artefacts. We had the same KVM system in our old DC, and saw the exact same artefacts that you're seeing. Besides switching to a KVM system that user regular (properly shielded) VGA cables, switching to shielded cat6 or cat6a might help, but not without a lot of work replacing your existing cabling.

For AD, here's some tips.

In AD Users & Computer (ADUC) you can enable an option called advanced view which will let you see a ton more stuff in that console.

For GPOs, you should be able to update this server from legacy update, and then install the GPMC console which is VASTLY superior to the standard gpo applet from 2k / 2k3.

To update GPOs without rebooting / logging off, you can run gpupdate /force on a cmd prompt and use gpresult to check GPO status on clients.

1:53:05, you can technically manage 11 too. Yeah it's probably MS's most retro/forward-compatible software to date.

Two hours and longer is just fine by me. You show your struggles with settling up equipment unlike some YouTube’s who press this, click here and bingo it works. Much prefer your format. Thanks for your efforts.
