The final 18 hole playoff in US Open history, and, as of 2024, the most recent playoff of any kind as well.

Only Rocco can be famous from a L. What a great personality and attitude while playing. He would definitely be in my TOP foursome

Memory; I was sitting on the couch with my father in NJ watching this head to head match up. Completely enthralled. My father was a huge golfer and an even bigger PGA fan. We sat, together, for hours. Riveted. Emotionally invested. Rooting for Rocco. Overcome by the unlikelihood of this playoff pairing.

We were on the east coast. This tourney was in San Diego. I stayed up well beyond my bed time to watch the dramatic conclusion. Waking up for school the next morning was no easy task. I snoozed the alarm clock 3 times. The lost sleep was well worth it.

- what a moment in goof history! what a moment -

Remember exactly where I was for this playoff. I was doing some construction work at a graveyard. Because the playoff was held in a Monday, we sat in the break room and watched the entire playoff, instead of working. Great times!
Hard to believe we had to wait 11 years to see him win again

Rocco Mediate. A true sportsman and such a great human being. He would have so much deserved to win, but on the other side. There was Tiger. An epic tournament. Thanks for sharing this emotional moment in Golf history.

Back when golf tournament commentators didn't sound like the network pulled them out of the gallery. Today's announcers are so captain obvious.
