I was telling my man of how sick my mum was and how sad and afraid I was. And that I was spending so much money and the outcome was not guaranteed. <br><br>His eyes watered. <br><br>It was our very early days.<br><br>I won’t lie, it was one of the things that made me know I wanted things to work out between us. <br><br>The capacity to be visibly moved with compassion for a woman he didn’t know who was mum to a woman he barely knew. <br><br>My mum has since passed, I’ve had a LOT of bad days, and he has treated me with the kindness and compassion I witnessed that day.
