Maria's design design is perfect for the Sonic the Hedgehog games especially when they are from Japan, her design is both in anime-esque style like the human characters from the Sonic Adventure game which makes the Shadow Generations game the second Sonic game with human characters in anime-esque style (except Merlina from Sonic and the Black Knight and Shahra from Sonic and the secret Rings, even thought they probably aren't exactly humans) and looks exactly like her design from the Sonic X anime TV series.
