the couch to 5k program is exactly how I started running, and I just did a half marathon in February! Your doing great Susie!

Running is honestly SO hard to get into! It sounds easy because all you need is a path and some shoes, but it's a seriously mental thing. You feel like you're not making progress at first. The hardest thing I had to learn was to give myself some grace. Some days I can run 5k without walking, other days it's half a mile. Above all, you've just gotta get out and do it. Best of luck with your journey Susie! ❤❤

Also seriously loved that intro!!

As someone who genuinely loves running and has just run a marathon my top tips are: 1. Run way slower than you think, it’s more of a jog, and also start off slow even if you feel like sprinting at the beginning, because if you start off too fast you’ll be in pain for the rest of the run. 2. Electrolytes are key, so much more important than you might think. 3. Stretch!!! 4. Watch videos of people running before running, this has worked to motivate me. Wish you the best of luck and also if you don’t really enjoy running after this whole journey there are so many other ways to improve your cardiovascular health, arguably even walking is more beneficial, and you don’t need to run if you don’t fancy it in my opinion, it’s not for everyone xx

„I am literally going at a walking pace… but with a little hop✨“ is the best description of my running style i have ever heard😂

As someone who IS a cardio girlie, like I truly hate weightlifting so much but I love HIIT workouts and runs, you're spot on about the pace. Especially as the intervals get longer, you have to pace yourself so you don't burn out right at the beginning! I also like to be super controlled, almost robotic with my breathing, that gives me something to focus on and kind of gives me that feeling of dissociating until the run is over. I find it super fun and it's one of the only things that helps me manage my anxiety disorder.

"I'm supposed to be going at a conversational pace. I don't think this is a conversational pace for me." Lol this gave me a good laugh as a girly who also hates cardio but really needs to get on it for a plethora of reasons. Also insert running emoji (I'm watching on my computer at work)
