These games may be dark but remember that the villain in Spyro 3 was trying to commit genocide on babies.

I disagree on the whole “you can’t give cute games with cute characters a dark story”. Everything’s possible with a decent development time and good writing.

Ahh, I love that the comment section is showing so much love for the Legend of Spyro. I thought I was the only one who loved that trilogy.

"I just feel like the idea of maturing a cute and cartoony character never makes sense."

But Jak tho. You go to elf-boi's romp through the jungle to I'M GOING TO KILL PRAXIS. And it wasn't terrible.

Dawn of the dragon actually impressed me. I absolutely loved the story and character design. Also the gameplay felt so much bettter and less repetitive than its previous title. I’m not gonna lie , i still go back and replay the third installment to this very day. I also enjoy a dark story with Spyro. When people say it doesn’t make sense for spyros cartoon character to be put in this scenario I question their logic because Spyro is a fucking D R A G O N and dragons are originally known for being killing machines so it felt nice to see my favorite childhood game become more mature as I continued to grow up. I heard once that there was plans to make mature rated spyros with blood and all that jazz but it was obviously canceled due to the backlash of this trilogy. I think I might be one of the only people who enjoyed the changes Spyro has been through.

How can you talk about these games without bringing up their incredible soundtrack?

 Fun fact about David spade!

I remember hearing one of the developers of the first LOS game talk about how much he hated working with spade, apparently since he was new to video game voice acting he didn’t know how to properly voice Sparx and got very rude with the voice directors and developers. They did not ask him back because of this.

I wish I could remember who said this, but the man had a YouTube channel and worked on the LOS trilogy.
