I love Ricky Gervais so much. He brings an intelligence to his jokes that upsets most people because they don’t get it. Or worse, don’t want to get it.<br>He’s ahead of his time.

I'm the same age as Ricky and I remember when homeless people would raid bins for food and sleep in cardboard boxes under Charing Cross bridge. Recently I saw a video of a clean and tidy early 20s American woman lamenting tearfully that she had "Been homeless for 1000 days". She was posting this on her smartphone from a large car onto her social media platform.
