  I suggest that you complete vehicle maintenance, repairs, and replacement of consumables (tires, air filters) within China, where the prices are much cheaper compared to other countries.

  Discovered your channel because another channel I subscribe to talking about China mentioned visits by your group so I had to check you out, and you guys are also from Western Australia so that&apos;s cool.<br><br>I have visited China many times but the last few times I just done road trips with my local friend rather than joining a tour group. I find its more flexible, we can stay longer at a place, change the route etc. We usually pick a destination and then pick stops along the way. Its the journey as much as the final destination.<br><br>Since you&apos;re in Yunnan, you could pay a visit east to the neighbouring province of Gaungxi. Less expensive, very ethnically diverse, and has some nice scenic places (Detian waterfall along the border with Vietnam, Li River cruise to Yangshuo). Guilin is the city in Guangxi that gets the attention of tourists, but the capital Nanning has its own charm as well. Someone already suggested Changsha for you, so you could go from Gaungxi to Changsha.<br><br>It might be doable from Changsha to go to Suzhou (be aware there are two cities with that name in English, but the Suzhou you want is 苏州 in Jiangsu province). &nbsp;You have to travel quite a bit in NE direction to reach Suzhou. But once there you can do the &quot;Jiangnan corridor&quot;, going Suzhou to Hangzhou to Wuxi to Nanjing. I did the Jiangnan corridor earlier this year, but I started further south in Hengdian (which is not well known to Western tourists but its essentially where they have a replica of the Forbidden city because its a freaking giant film studio). Suzhou has great ancient architecture and very sweet food, Hangzhou has the beautiful west lake you can walk around, Wuxi is a nice stop and Nanjing is beautiful especially at night. I even saw a restaurant in Nanjing hire dancers wearing traditional hanfu dancing on the second floor to entice people into the restaurant.

  Chat with locals, and ask their suggestions about local food. Be adventurous on foods you won’t regret it!!! Fellow Chinese lived in Australia for years, hope you will experience the best hospitality in your trip

  There are so many amazing places to visit within China. In Heilongjiang, you’ll find sculptures carved from ice and snow. Xinjiang is home to forests bursting with vibrant colours. Xizang holds the Potala Palace. Xi’an boasts massive ancient structures. Chongqing surprises visitors with its 3‑dimensional streetscapes. Hainan has some of the clearest ocean waters. Shenzhen and Shanghai feel like cities from the future.<br> <br>If you only have two months for your trip, you won’t be able to see everything. It’s a good idea to pick just three destinations to focus on for this journey, and save the rest for another time. Travel is best enjoyed when you take it slow and savour each moment.
