The spelling usage of American English or British English doesn't matter too much. It's the different slang that matters more, given American, British, and Australian slang can have different meanings.

Sophomore = sophos (wise) + moros (fool) = wise fool. Referring to how second years know just enough to think they know everything but don't know enough to know they don't know anything.

The word kindergarten is a German word and was first used by educators in France in the early 1800s. So it’s not only an American thing

2:55 in the uk we have 'reception' before year one, not sure why it's not on the table lol. There's also nursery before reception but that's more optional (most people go there anyway but it's more so that the parents can work rather than an actual requirement)

Note that French fries and French toast are named after the style of how they are prepared. The fries are cut in a French cutting style and French toast is how they are cooked.

5:10 this is pointing out the MAID program in Canada. They just killed a guy for seasonal depression, and a Canadian veteran asked the VA for the money to install a wheelchair lift in his house so that he can access his second floor and they recommended that he unalived himself. Seriously these are both real cases.

6:40 sorry I keep doing this, Resident American yapper over here. We actually DO have a lot of homes without spaces between them, including row homes, condominiums, apartments, townhomes etc. Generally you’ll see this in the inner city more often, as well as a lot of newer developments as well. See the LA Bungalow Courtyard Apartments or Philadelphia Rowhomes as some pretty unique regional examples.

In Australia, "french fries" are also known as "shoestring fries/chips" (but only when bought as a frozen bag). Which is to say...small thin chips are still called "fries", chunkier chips are called "chips", and the flattened potato slice chips are called "potato chips"
