  My daddy drilled it into my head to change oil at 3k religiously! &nbsp;We had to learn how to change oil, &nbsp;change tire, and how to drive standard stick shift, before we could drive. He taught us many things about vehicles but those specific items before allowed to drive. &nbsp;I made my kids do the same. The body of our cars looked old before we ever had engine problems.   Every high school should teach this as a mandatory subject. I wish I had teaching about cars in high school, could have saved me thousands and heartache.

  I change the batteries in my cars every 4 years. &nbsp;I don&apos;t wait for my family to be stranded in a cold, dark, parking lot and have to jump start it. &nbsp;I also carry those electronic jump starters in my cars to help other stranded riders.

  Change the thermostat of coolant is also important, once the thermostat breakdown, the coolant doesnt work, the engine overheat that could lead to a lot of problems

  A couple you missed, When you change oil check, CV boots. &nbsp;Change immediately if cracked , USE OEM, &nbsp; Clean out the cv joint, re grease don&apos;t just replace boots, Boots don&apos;t last for ever. &nbsp;Boots are way cheaper than CV joints. &nbsp; CV joints with intact boots and clean &nbsp;grease last forever almost. &nbsp;Check Tyre pressures fortnightly<br>Don&apos;t let leaves dirt and other debris accumulate in body work engine bays, etc. &nbsp;Thorougher clean every oil change, every couple of months better.. <br>Note your miles per gallon(KM/Litre, after each top up. &nbsp;mileage goes down,???? always a reason.<br>Hydraulic clutch cables, change fluid. (use brake fluid ,)<br>Power steering fluid can( use transmission fluid some models)
