  Thank  you for providing the missing pieces of the historical puzzle in the Beaver wars and the travels of LaVerendrye, in school we learned of the glory days of the French Regime but not about all the indigenous interaction in these matters. My family has lived in Quebec City and Montreal since 1662, important to know all this for better understanding.

  I love learning about all other tribes. Books are great but nothing is better then hearing and seeing it. I can tell you really know your peoples history. You made then  proud.

  Miigwech for the telling of our history, my great grandmother tells stories about the carrying out of the ongoing fight. She was from Sandy Lake, her name Beengway, interviewed in 1928 by Irving Hart, the story she tells is, Beengway a Chippewa Warrior’s daughter, retrievable through Minnesota Historical Society web page. Cool stuff, dibajiimowin.

  My 5th great grandfather was Chief Loons Foot. I believe his mother was captured by the Lacota and had a son with Chief Red Bonnet before she had my great grandfather. Fascinating! Thank you for keeping our heritage alive Brother 🙏
