I’m Dutch! This was a very interesting video to watch.

The reason why they replaced the Orange with Red is because Orange wasn’t that well visible at sea. Red was also a cheaper color to get.

I thought he was making a joke when he said that the Dutch made carrots orange, but he always explains it well. He could be lying and I’d still believe him 😂

Wales has the best flag in the world. Period. That's the reason why I already likes Wales as a kid, because I totally was into dragons :D But my interest for Wales was always there and became stronger and stronger in recent years. You can be proud of your flag and your country.

 3:45

The Habsburgs owned the Netherlands for about a hundred years starting from around 1482 until 1579 when the Dutch declared independence, though they fought for this freedom for another 80 years give or take. Of those hundred years, they were specifically under Spain for only a few decades before the revolt broke out, as previously both Spain and the Low Countries were under a unified Habsburg crown. What is now Belgium was actually under Spanish rule for another 200 years until the 1790s.
