Tengen is the Tetris version I first experienced. At a friend's house down the road. I remember being actually very surprised when he pulled the black differently shaped cartridge from his console. At that time the only black cartridges I knew about were SEGA's. My young mind was blown. It seemed like it wasn't supposed to be because it didn't match the NES aesthetic.

Crazy to think that contra had controversy back than, it's one of the most iconic games of the era. I remember bionic commando as a totally cool game and the change didn't mean much of anything, bad guys were the bad guys and the final boss still looked like him from what i remember.
