I'm 59 years old & was raised in Mississippi. I lived on a soybean & cattle farm. I worked with black farmhands whose ancestors worked the same land as slaves. For the same family. I got to experience first hand the drinking and blues playing in old electrified slave quarters. No running water. Just power. Tin roofs that would lull you to sleep at night if it was "drizzling". My alcoholic father had thrown me out at 16 & I went to work on that farm. The old shack I lived in still had newspapers on the wall from 1913 that was used as insulation. Complete with an outhouse. Labor laws were a joke & I'm grateful for it. I lived in a house that slaves built, worked and lived in. I didn't realize it at the time because of being young but I lived in a real part of history. I took a google walk around the edges of the old place a few days ago & though it's gravel roads are gone & it's been bulldozed and lies underneath overgrowth, I can pin point the exact spot where my beautiful little home was. I became a man there & learned so much from those old, black gentlemen. I miss the crap out of it. Hard work and all.

I woke this morning /feeling around for my shoes/you know I had those walking blues/the blues are not that bad/ the worst old feeling I ever had.
These lyrics and this music puts into the mind the reality of the blues when someone lets us down. The ONLY way to handle these type of blues FOR ME is to take a long out of breath walk in nature.
The two singers in this presentation put their entire heart into this song/ thats why I LOVE THE BLUES ESPECIALLY playing for change/song around the world.

Robert Johnson could never have imagined how well known his songs would be and all the pleasure the world would get from them. Bless him wherever he is now.

I think you all need to start a walking blues foundation so that the blues will be kept alive in the schools. Help the kids with some school shoes NRL less fortunate population, just saying

Keb’ Mo’ has always sounded like his blues are much older than his years. First time I saw him I was expecting someone about 115 years old and was the influence to the likes of Robert Johnson and BB.. Not some youngster. Way to pay homage to the men and women who were playing and singing the blues long before they were recorded.

also translated in english - downside...
🇩🇪 Ich lieeeeebe diesen Gedanken hinter den "Playing for a Change"!

🇬🇧 I looooooooove this Idea behind "Playing for a Change"!
But it's ALWAYS the Songs and oldies of the USA, at least english Lyrics. No question: logical, easy to explain and comprehend!

BUT "Change" should play popular songs of ALL Nations. Because it is this music that connects all of us. Which integrates the foreign language into a comprehensible complete work. From the famous Serbian folk tune, to a hit from Israel, to an Evergreen from Palestine and the OneHitWonder from Peru or a hit from Estonia up to something famously of Russia.

THAT would be "Change" and could show even more clearly that WE should ALL and more with the life of the other should deal with and sometimes out of our feel-good zone in order to get to know and understand others.

THAT'S what I think, i mean.🤔🤗
