I’ve taken 6 solo cruises. Never had an issue! The best way to cruise! IMHO

Safety tip a cop friend gave me years ago, carry an umbrella or walking stick. Looks like it "could" be a weapon to stray dogs and potential muggers alike, making you a less appealing target. Thanks for the video!

looking forward to my first one. I travel solo in an RV. Leaving land sounds like a good next step.

As a solo female traveler I am surprised no one ever mentions the Princess Medallion as a safety concern. What bothers me is the automatic unlocking of my state room door when I am still several feet away from it. The screen also displays my picture and name, major safety no no in my book.

Sadly just got off my first one. Made so many friends from so many different walks of life. Had the best time and even sat in the mdr 4 straight days with a lovely couple in their 70s at an 8 person table. Yikes!

I cruise solo and with friends. When I cruise with friends, we often book excursions through 3rd parties like Viator or Shore Excursions Group. When I cruise solo, I only book excursions through the cruise line. I just feel a little safer and that the cruise line will give more support if something happens.

I have been solo cruising for over ten years and on every mainstream line. The ONLY time I have ever felt even remotely unsafe, is when some man is hitting on me. Which at my age doesn’t happen much 😂. My advice to others is keep your wits about you, like you should anywhere and make friends with the crew, meaning MDR staff, your steward, etc. They have your back and look out for you. Solo cruising is wonderful and IMO, one of the safest options for a solo traveler.

In looking at the insurance you mentioned (safety Wing Nomad Insurance) the oldest ge they list acceptance of ends at age 64. Any recommendations specifically for CRUISE medical & travel insurance companies as dd not see the word CRUISE insurance anywhere in their link. Thx.

I have a bit of advice for not just cruising. I eat out by myself frequently. As with most other people, I encounter a lot of families. A lot of families do not keep their children with them, or stop them from running around. I never allowed my son to run around, especially in restaurants.

If I find a family who's children do not run around, and who behave themselves, I will frequently go to their table as I am leaving. I will say that I was very impressed that they were so well behaved. That it made it a pleasure to be around them. Parents and children do not hear this enough. No matter how tired they are, it perks them up and they tend to continue to behave in public.
