  I worked here in the early 1970's when this was industrial and they were dredging the area. Granville island is also a man made island.

  I've known about this island for quite some time and actually there is more wildlife than you probably have not seen yet especially at night I have been there at night and you'd be surprised seals will appear on the shoreline plus coyotes are living in the neighborhood it is also active with birds at certain times of the year I discovered your channel a few months ago I have lived in Vancouver for over 70 years and you have showed me some new spots I didn't know about so keep up the great work thank you so much

  In Montréal, they also built a whole island using the rocks from the Subway 's tunnels digging. Now it's a big park with museums and activities there.

  Originally the tree branches hung low creating a hiding place for nefarious activities. &nbsp;Now they prune the bottom branches so you can see through the trees. &nbsp;Not so natural. &nbsp;There is another hidden mini-forest at Robson Square. &nbsp;I believe it is under intense surveillance.

  No joke, I once saw cops hide in the bushes on the island and jump out to ticket 3 people drinking sunset beers, while a man smoked meth 10 feet away
