  The Pentagon needs to stop putting so many eggs in Lockeeds basket. They take longer to fill contracts because they make more money when they do it.

  The F16 is a gem of an airframe.  Updating it and adding the features mentioned, keeps the Air Force ahead of the curve and within budget.

  With A-10s being retired, new F-16s could help fill that gap. Also, too many existing 15s and16s are just worn out and need to be replaced ASAP.

  The F16 is still a very capable beast. I always thought they were the best looking aircraft in the sky.. I'd love to see new ones built.

  I feel that purchasing F-35's and assigning them to ANG and Reserve squadrons is a waste of resources. Purchasing the F-15EX and assigning them to regular Air Force as well as ANG and Reserves is the way to go. The same thing with the F-16 Block 70/72 new builds, buy those and supply them to ANG and Reserves.

  A bigger winged XL &nbsp;version of the Viper with longer range, stealth coating, better radar, plus very long range weaponry makes a lot of sense. A 400 x unit buy would also give savings at scale and increase availability with added advantage of much improved sensors and therefore operational flexibility that it doesn&apos;t have so much of now against more advanced adversaries. Increased combat mass will also deter potential adversaries from provoking military adventures where it is deployed knowing that it has an increased lethality which it may not be able to match. They should go ahead with the programme as soon as it&apos;s practical to do so.
