My favourite at this level is the Laney Lionheart Foundry super 60 because its simple to use and really does sound like a tube amp....and it takes pedals so well.

Got tired of my old tube Marshalls ..to heavy to carry and always repairing...sold em to G.C.....bought a Katana 50 mk2....and a marshall mg50gfx....very happy with the 2 amps and seeing both in your top $500 or below was very cool....also the clean on the Marshall I agree is very good ..better then the Katana's clean...thank you for your input

I’ve got the orange crush 35 RT and I have about eight other amplifiers the orange crush 35 RT is awesome. I wish you did have a 12 inch speaker but to me still awesome.

I totally agree about the orange crush line: great circuits, poor speaker choices. I have the crush 20. I added a switch for an extension Speaker in parallel. I made a 1x12 cab and i run the 8 incher as an open back, and the 1x12 as a. closed back. Holy crap. It sounds absolutely amazing.

The Catalyst sounds like a nice kinda less is more amp, with 100 watts to boot! Might be worth looking into!

Crate G 40 C it's a 2x8 SS stereo that will blow your mind. Two important notes. Must be a made by SLM and have the celestion L series speakers. But if you find one. GRAB IT!

There's nothing wrong with DSP, modeling amps etc.. that's all I use now, a katana, a catalyst and positive grid reactor amps.. honestly they sound better than many of the tube amps I've owned.. maybe not as good as a dual rectifier or 5150, but better than the under a grand tube amps I've owned before..

Anderton's has a couple of "blind test" videos from 2 years ago and I found them to be quite interesting. I, personally, am only interested in clean sounds. I don't do the distortion thing. The O Tone may be a contender (love that it has tremolo) if it sounds good at apartment levels.
