Hey everyone! Your feedback and engagement with this video has been really encouraging. I'm glad that others have enjoyed this film as much as I have, and have seen many of the same philosophical and theological ideas embedded into Snyder's story.<br><br>If you enjoyed this video, you may be interested in my latest video on Luke Skywalker and Star Wars:<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7ixhW_Ts7Y">https://youtu.be/_7ixhW_Ts7Y</a>

It’s funny I used to see Zack Snyder as a visual director akin to Michael Bay. Essential, all flash and no substance. But the more i see videos such as this I’m convinced he is a severely misunderstood and brilliant director

After so many years even university students can't keep up with every new revelation this movie had to offer and that itself is a big achievement for BvS UE.

From now, if my marvel fan friends ever argue with me about Batman Vs Superman (or DC). I would simply show them this video.<br>Great work brother.

Some see "Super heroes fighting and things go boom"<br>Some see "Worst comic book movie ever"<br>I see a "deconstructed revenge story about men versus gods, a comic book in motion, full of mythology and symbolism."

I love this movie. I’m a batman nutcase, so I’m versed in many of the comic storylines. Means I was aware of what was happening during some of those sequences I hear people say don’t make sense. Batman killing: yes he normally doesn’t. That’s the point. That’s his arc: discovering he’s become the thing he’s been fighting for 20 years. On that score, I’m not sure what the confusion is about. Except maybe people just don’t like seeing it happen. There is also an idea that bad things happen sometimes, even as a consequence of actions taken with the best of intentions. Again, I can understand people not wanting to see Superman struggle with his job. In the “real” world, as we’ve all learned recently, almost 1/3 of us are either incapable of critical thought or believe in conspiracy theory, with or without evidence. Or are just filled with hate and grievance, and like having someone to blame. Since their lives are crappy and their personal choices must have had nothing to do with their circumstances. So anyway, IF Superman existed, does anyone think he’d be universally loved? That’s where this movie lives - as if these people existed in a cynical world like ours. Great revisit. Thanks for the content!!

BvS is so underrated. It's a relief people are now beginning to understand what Zack Snyder wanted to convey.

I’ve also written about BvS in my graduate studies. It’s a severely misunderstood film. It’s worth noting that the public’s response to it was as divided as people are about every aspect of contemporary life. As I’ve written, people were divided about BvS because it held a mirror up to the movie-going audience and forced them to take a deep, long look at themselves. I would argue that Superman in BvS is still inherently a “boyscout.” What has changed is how the general public populating this fictional world reacts to him...how people are divided by his actions and suspicious of his motives...people either perceive him with hope or with fear. These divided perceptions of Superman then make Clark question himself. When Superman goes into self-exile and comes across a vision of Pa Kent, he basically tells him that he is just one person and cannot save everyone but that inaction and self-exile is far worse...he cannot give up and has to at least try. I would also add that Lex Luthor envies Superman’s power and believes that if he cannot have the same power, then Superman must be wholly destroyed...both in physical death and in public opinion. Besides the obvious symbolism, the DC Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman first unite onscreen to defeat Luthor’s man-made evil, finding strength in numbers (but working as one) and not through division and isolation. Superman’s inherent good in action is what “resurrects” Batman and Wonder Woman, lifting the veil from Batman’s eyes and reminding Wonder Woman that people are still good and worth fighting for. Lastly, I find it interesting that Darkseid is the ultimate villain the Justice League must face in these films, for he is the New God of evil...but an evil that resembles St. Augustine’s belief that evil is the absence of good.
