  My son, who is a lawyer now, had a girlfriend in high school. She had all kinds of problems: mother, mother&apos;s boyfriend, a jealous ex. My son, in his youthful exuberance, wanted to be her &quot;hero&quot; and rescue her from all of that. I advised him, her problems should not become his problems. He had his own future to consider. I am glad he listened to me.
