  Civ II's greatest accomplishment: helping me fail my first semester of college. I think I played 1000 hours of Civ2 that semester... much to the disappointment of my final exams.

  Civilization 4 was the peak of 4x gaming.  I'm a retired History teacher and I would run my classes through a Civ4 multi-player game with the class divided into teams.  It was one of the most popular units I ever taught.  I would tell parents it was a "Social Studies Simulator".

  I got a copy of Civ1 on a shareware disc back when I was completely new to computers. My aunt was a teacher at a computer lab so she got games and software at random.<br><br>Booted up our Pressario 1425 and popped in the disk and that was the end of sleep for a long time and a lifelong love for every Sid Mier and Civ title. <br><br>My biggest regret was losing that shareware disc. It had so many demos of so many good games that I wish I had remembered existing as I&apos;ve gotten older. Many good hours of childhood was spent with simple demos until I learned what piracy was and how to purchase full version games. 😂😅<br><br>Thank you Firaxis-Civilization for the thousands of hours of poured into your wonderful games.

  Started with civ1 as a high schooler. Now my kids are going to college, and I am still playing Civilization.

  Civ II Gold Edition was my introduction to this game series. I fell in love instantly. Wonderful games.

  I was there at the beginning. Civ 1 as a security guard at Tandum(?) computers in Moorpark CA 1992 lobby on the graveyard shift.

  Thanks for the video. &nbsp;I had no idea Sid was one of the original founders of Microprose. &nbsp;&quot;Just one more turn&quot; on Civ has eaten more of my hours than any other game. &nbsp;What an incredible series.
