I thought I knew the great songbirds of this era, but she is new to me. What a lovely voice and style! I remember my mother used to hold my hands and sing "Would you like to take a walk?" to me when I was a toddler. Annette Hanshaw's version seems like the definitive one.

Annette Hanshaw was the most popular female singer on the radio and Bing Crosby won the male singer honor in 1933. Just Google the result on your people search. The Personality Girl on NBC's Maxwell House Show Boat! See video!

Her and Ruth Etting are my favourites ❤ I just love when Annette says ‘thats all!’ At the end of the song.
