  Your look of bewilderment is hilarious.  These commercials are a prime example of... "You had to be there!"  A lot of the celebrities and sports figures younger generations wouldn't recognize. Famous boxer (of his day) Rocky Graziano in the Rock em Sock em Robots ad. Ricardo Montalban (Khannnnn!) for Chrysler Cordoba, David Naughton (Dr. Pepper) from American Werewolf in London,  Composer Burt Bacharach and his the wife  (lucky dog!) Angie Dickenson  for Martini and Rossi... and that last Miller Lite Taste Great/Less Filling had some of the most prominent sports figures of the day... hosted by author Mickey Spillane.  And let's not Forget Farrah Fawcett (Charlies Angels) and Joe Nameth (Jets Quarterback) for Noxema.  For us old timers, it is a real nostalgia trip. :face-fuchsia-tongue-out:

  The Native American commercial was speaking about the pollution problem in the early 70s. It was very powerful at the time because ecology was huge back then.

  Fact is, all of those were bangers in their day. And the ones with singing usually became popular to the point that everyone would be singing or humming them.
