  I feel like with the AAA industry starting to realize that people are sick of it, these kinds of "fake indies" are going to become an increasing problem. We can't have nice things apparently.

  Hi, professional indie game dev here.<br><br>Thank you so much for demanding more from these games and not shying away from a negative review for the sake of being positive.<br><br>One thing I noticed when trying to get funding is that having the cozy and survival labels attached to your game makes it significantly easier to receive funding, because those tags tend to sell much better compared to something like a platformer. I believe publishers and investors noticed that cozy games reach a mostly different audience from the regular gaming eco system, where all of the usual quality control measures like game review channels aren&apos;t as established just yet. Luckily, this is getting better, but developers are still exploiting this mechanism: They pitch the most generic, soulless game to a big investor and convince them it will sell because it is &quot;cozy&quot;. Then they halfass the development and throw it at a group of players that have historically been starved for good games, hoping that they don&apos;t pick up on the games poor quality and selling it on aesthetics alone.<br><br>I&apos;m definitely more of a traditional gamer, I try to play as many kinds of games as possible and right now I&apos;m in the middle of playing through the Resident Evil Games, literally the furthest thing from cozy you can get. But I love many older cozy games like New Leaf and Stardew Valley, so it just hurts seeing all of these developers pump out soulless garbage and being rewarded for it, all because they weaponize the positivity of cozy spaces to block criticism.<br><br>Whew, rant over, I really needed to get that off my chest.<br>TLDR: Demand better! Cozy gamers have an incredible power and if you start being more critical and selective of your games, we&apos;ll see cozy games become so much more than.. whatever this is.

  this is especially egregious when compared to field&apos;s of mistria&apos;s own successful 1.0 launch literally like a week ago. people god fed a great finished game only to be handed this days later

  The characters look great and that’s kinda it lol. <br>Heard a reviewer calling this game Ghibli inspired and that the character looked like they came out of the movies. I’m like no it doesn’t.

  The cozy game to scam pipeline needs to be studied it just keeps happening :/ it seems like more and more nefarious people have self inserted themselves into the cozy game genre just to scam people.

  Reminder that Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar exists and is a complete and well made farming sim that also got free post launch updates, that game deserves way more attention.<br>Also reminder that Story of Seasons is the rebrand of Harvest Moon, y&apos;know the series that inspired Stardew Valley?

  This studio will likely be back under a different name with a different game and, sadly, will probably make more money from the same people who funded this one. The casual/cozy demographic is among the most easily exploited. With the powerful tools available to developers now (including AI), it&apos;s very easy for almost anyone to make a great looking game, but it still requires hard work, dedication, and talent to make a great looking game... well, great. <br><br>Put games like this on your wishlist and just be patient if you don&apos;t want to get scammed because if you don&apos;t, you inevitably will.

  I really dislike they said they&apos;d adjust the character design a bit but all the male romance options art still the same. Unlike the girls 4 have very similar hair colors. All the girls look pretty unique

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cEdzlw0R4Y&amp;t=262">4:22</a> this is already a HUGE flag. there is always a catch, ALWAYS. also this not the first time indie studio just ghosted a game after full released, this happens a lot especially one that get the sweeet sweeet deal from a big company.

  I am over 400 hours in. I told all my friends about it and been biting my nails for the full release. The rage I felt when I logged in and realized how little we got.
