I was in Greece/Hellas when they won the EU in 2004. IT...WAS...BONKERS! We were sitting in a restaurant watching the game, and everyone just left when they won. Nobody was going to miss out on the fun. "Open bar, take what you want." Every car on the street stopped, and people where standing on top of them, singing. It's the most insane thing i've ever been a part of. Everyone from age 10 to 90 were in the streets. No hate, all love. We were on a vacation from Norway, but we were treated like family. Probably the best night of my life. I'll never forget my dad hugging a random greek who was in tears, singing that "siko seko" song. If you know you know.

One thing to remeber is that in Europe, teams don't just pick up and move city, taking the franchise elsewhere. In Europe it is your city or region on the line, and it has been like it for generations. Pride is a key word, It is alot more than just entertainment for most Europeans <3

The thing is European fans won't accept the bullshit of their Super Stars. In America professional athletes can get away with murder or any other nonsense, like Draymond Green and his nonsense. In Europe this wouldn't be tolerated by the governing body much less the fans. Europe expects a higher degree of discipline of their Super Stars. And Super Stars must have a great degree of tolerance, he is the one on TV, he or she is the one that that all the kids see and want to emulate.

there is an american youtuber who got hooked on european basketball (he was a huge NBA fan) after reacting to videos like this. he saved up money and toured europe to watch games. he even got invited by the greek team that makes it snow with paper like you have seen. guided tour, sideline seat, learning chants, throwing paper on the court and more. sadly i don't remember his name :(
