Guess you missed that day in school when they discussed Alcatraz as being considered an escape-proof prison. The fruit fly trap is perfectly named because of that specific point. Speculation on my part, but maybe your print of it didn't work very well because of the crappy print. The amount of threading and fuzz was insane.

For the can cooler, it might be easier, instead of filling it with water, buy a bunch of gel packs (say, 3"×3" ones) and stuff those down the sides. It won't leak, and you're less likely to experience layer separation due to the water expanding as it freezes.

As someone who spent weeks 'perfecting' watertight printing (for vase mode prints, BION), the key is over-extrusion. You need to overextrude by a solid 5-10% (depending on filament type) to ensure proper squish between layers so water can't seep through. The caveat, of course, is the potential sacrifice to some quality on the exterior perimeters, so the less detail your print has, the better it'll look in the end.

I have actually used those sheets holders before. However the ones that I used were an actual product I can tell you after having issues with bed sheets for 10 years it was the only thing that fixed it. But also the store-bought ones broke after a couple of years. And I have been considering making my own one.

I put a cold beverage into a frozen one of these and kept my beverage pretty cold for about an hour in the sun. Not terrible but the ice wall should be much thicker to last longer. I think the reason it leaks is so it doesn't explode when frozen

I learned to spin the loop around twice when tying my shoes. Never have my shoes come untied now but they release very easy.
